Who am I?
Bema Coulibaly, Member of Parliament for the Bazré–Kononfla constituency
Born on June 19, 1963, Bema Coulibaly is an Ivorian politician with a long-standing commitment to the development of his region and to national causes. A civil administrator by training, he embodies a political vision rooted in grassroots experience and close ties with the local population.
Deep-rooted local ties
Bema Coulibaly’s political journey in the Bazré and Kononfla constituency goes back years. He first ran as an independent candidate in the 2016 legislative elections, backed by a solid local support base. Constitutional Council records from that period attest to his active participation in the vote and the significance of his civic engagement in the region.
A career within the RHDP
Drawing on his experience and his desire to serve, Bema Coulibaly subsequently joined the political fold of the *Rassemblement des Houphouëtistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix* (RHDP). In 2021, he was nominated as the party’s candidate for the same Bazré–Kononfla constituency.
His local standing has strengthened over the years. In 2022, he was appointed as an elected RHDP official for the sector covering Sinfra, Kononfla, and Bazré, thereby consolidating his role as a regional leader.
National commitment: Statelessness and refugees
Beyond strictly local concerns, Bema Coulibaly has distinguished himself on the national stage through his involvement in major humanitarian issues. Notably, he chaired a network of Ivorian parliamentarians dedicated to the issues of statelessness and refugees. In this capacity, he championed the cause of the most vulnerable, explaining that parliamentarians must actively engage in seeking solutions to migration crises, mass displacement, and statelessness. This commitment demonstrates his ability to address complex societal issues at the national level.
Re-election and Current Term (2025–2026)
For the 2025 legislative elections, the RHDP officially nominated Bema Coulibaly as its candidate for constituency No. 136 (comprising the communes and sub-prefectures of Bazré and Kononfla).
Following the vote on December 27, 2025, he undertook a thank-you tour across the constituency’s localities, meeting with traditional chiefs and various communities to acknowledge their mobilization.
In January 2026, he participated in the inaugural session of the new legislature. He also spoke regarding the election of Patrick Achi as President of the National Assembly, thereby marking his active entry into the parliamentary debates of this new term.
